CRM-SPX1
Certified Calibration Solution for 13-desmethylspirolide C
Spirolides, including 13-desmethylspirolide C, are part of the cyclic imine group of marine biotoxins [1-4]. Initially found in seafood from Nova Scotia [1] spirolides were shown to be produced by the gonyaulacoid dinoflagellate Alexandrium ostenfeldii [5]. Spirolides cause a characteristic rapid death in the mouse bioassay and have been shown to have high oral potency with neurotoxicity [6,7].
CRM-SPX1-b is a certified calibration solution of 13-desmethylspirolide C in methanol, containing 0.05% trifluoroacetic acid. It is designed as an instrument calibration solution to aid in the identification and quantitation of 13-desmethylspirolide C in analytical samples.
